About Cardiology

The hospital provides advanced Cardiology services supported by a state-of-the-art Invasive, Non-Invasive & Interventional Cardiology.

Treatments

Our Diagnostic & Treatment Services

Device Implantation

  • Pacemakers: For slow heartbeats (Bradycardia).
  • ICDs (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators): For life-threatening rapid rhythms.
  • CRT (Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy): To help the heart pump more efficiently in heart failure patients.

Holter & Event Monitoring: Continuous 24/7 monitoring to catch intermittent rhythm disorders.

Comprehensive Valve Care

Rheumatic Heart Disease results from damage to heart valves caused by rheumatic fever. Our clinic is dedicated to the long-term management of RHD, focusing on preserving native valves and preventing further damage.

Our Approach to Care

  • Surveillance & Management: Regular Echocardiograms to monitor valve function and medication management to prevent recurrent infections (prophylaxis).
  • Balloon Valvuloplasty: A non-surgical procedure to open narrowed (stenotic) heart valves using a balloon catheter.

Ailments

TAVI is a surgical procedure performed to replace a blocked or narrowed aortic valve in people who are at greater risk or too sick for open heart surgery. The TAVR (TAVI) procedure involves implantation of the aortic valve using a catheter.

Peripheral angioplasty is a minimally invasive procedure to open narrowed arteries and improve blood flow.

CABG surgery improves blood flow to the heart by bypassing blocked coronary arteries.

A Treadmill Test (TMT) is a cardiac stress test that monitors your heart's rhythm and blood pressure during exercise to detect signs of coronary artery disease or reduced blood flow.

Procedures

Used to assess heart structure, rhythm, and function without entering the body.

Heart Rhythm & Electrical Tests
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) – Measures heart electrical activity
  • Holter monitor – 24–48-hour continuous ECG recording
Imaging & Functional Tests
  • Echocardiogram (Echo) – Ultrasound of the heart
  • Stress Test (exercise or pharmacologic)– Assesses blood flow during exertion
  • Cardiac CT scan – Visualizes coronary arteries and calcium score
  • Cardiac MRI – Detailed heart structure and tissue characterization
  • Treadmill Test (TMT) - A Treadmill Test (TMT) is a cardiac stress test that monitors your heart's rhythm and blood pressure during exercise to detect signs of coronary artery disease or reduced blood flow.

Require catheter insertion, usually through the wrist or groin.

  • Cardiac catheterization (coronary angiography) – Visualizes coronary artery blockages

Minimally invasive treatments done via catheter.

    Coronary Artery Treatments
  • Angioplasty (balloon dilation)
  • Coronary stent placement(drug-eluting or bare-metal)
  • Rotational atherectomy – Removes calcified plaque
    Structural Heart Interventions
  • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
  • MitraClip / transcatheter mitral repair
  • Patent foramen ovale (PFO) or ASD closure
  • Left atrial appendage closure (e.g., Watchman)

Treat abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias).

  • Pacemaker implantation
  • Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD)
  • Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT)
  • Primary PCI for heart attack (STEMI)
  • Pericardiocentesis – Draining fluid around the heart
  • Temporary pacing
Preventive & Supportive Procedures
  • Cardiac rehabilitation programs
  • Risk assessment and lipid management
  • Blood pressure and heart failure management
